The tournament, which included under-15 and under-19 categories, was set for the finals today in Moletjie Village having started a few weeks ago.
The sponsors of the tournament, under the leadership of former Orlando Pirates midfielder Segolela, included Absa, Dino Panel Beaters, Senatla Panel Beaters, Hollywoodbets, Land Rover Limpopo and Mavi Travel and Conference.
Speaking in an interview with snl24.com/kickoff, Segolela says they are yet to decide about the way forward after the tournament was canceled on Tuesday.
"We had no choice but to cancel the tournament," Segolela says.
"Remember, with the latest adjustments only professional sports are allowed to continue with their programme. Because we are at amateur level, we had to cancel the tournament.
"We are going to meet again on 10 January to decide about the way forward.
Segolela reveals that part of the sponsorship money was dedicated to their education fund.
"We really appreciate the support we have been getting from the business community in Limpopo," he adds. "Part of the prize money this year was set to go to the education fund."
