One of the DStv Premiership sides, TS Galaxy took time out on Saturday and decided to give back to the Mamelodi community on World Food Day.
A football club is more than a business, at times it can be the few role models in a specific area and that is why a club's social responsibility is very important to makes sure the fans are okay.
Giving back to the community sometimes involves bringing people together and working toward a single cause. These large-scale events which raise awareness of a local need and encourage local unity.

In TS Galaxy's latest Instagram posts, the club showed off local citizens with groceries including Oil, vegetables, maize meal and more. The caption read, "TS Galaxy Football Club celebrated World Food Day in style today by giving back to the community of Mamelodi." "The club together with Entokozweni Resource Centre-Miag in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Social Development embarked on a journey to give back to the members of the community who comes from a disadvantaged background."

Other items in the packages included sunlight soap, tin food and rice that should help the citizens in their daily lives. Stats SA stated in its 2020 poverty lines report that more than a quarter of the South African population were living below the poverty line in 2015.
For context, that means that 13.8 million citizens were living off less than R624 a month which makes it even more important that clubs help out those in need if they have the finances to.
