Why not to forget Mamelodi Sundown's Lebohang Maboe

There is a saying that says 'out of sight, out of mind' and this may be the case for some ballers in the DStv Premiership. However, we look at a Mamelodi Sundowns star to not forget this 2022!

Over the years, it has become a bit of the norm to forget some of Sundowns' top ballers, as their squad depth runs so deep that you might end up failing to recall some of the players in their books.

While in some instances that is due to the amount of competition for places in the team and in Lebohang Maboe's case, it is his unfortunate season-ending injury that has been keeping him out of sight.

Scroll through the gallery above to see what Lebohang Maboe has been getting up more recently

New year, different fortunes

In one of Maboe's recent posts, the 27-year-old attacker recently celebrated the new year with a lot of optimism by saying: "Here's to 12 new chapters."

Many fans, particularly those of Masandawana will be sharing the same sentiments as their attacker continues his long recovery. Although he has not made a single DStv Premiership appearance this season, the three-time league champion remains a memorable act and looks to be enjoying the unsolicited time off.

The former Maritzburg United attacker removed the dreadlocks he had on the back-end of 2021 and started the year with his usual short hair.

He also went to the tourist destination Little Paris in Hartbeespoort, where he got to see South Africa's very own Eiffel Tower look-alike.

Did you know?

Maboe is close to reaching 200 appearances in the topflight, which all came from the DStv/Absa Premiership, CAF Champions League, MTN8, Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout and the PSL promotion-relegation playoffs, per Transfermarkt.

Your thoughts, please?

If every Sundowns attacker was fit, would Maboe have a place in your best 11?
