Kaizer Chiefs edged closer to a maiden DStv Diski Challenge title following a 3-1 victory over Richards Bay FC at the Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday.
The Glamour Boys took a 2-0 lead at the break courtesy of Imaad Hendricks and striker Naledi Hlongwane.
Richards Bay pulled one back after the interval, but the Amakhosi proved too strong as Neo Bohloko bagged a third goal to secure maximum points.
The Soweto giants remain top of the Diski Challenge table, one point ahead of Stellenbosch FC.
Orlando Pirates 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns
Orlando Pirates’ top-three ambitions were derailed after suffering a late 1-0 loss to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at the Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers contained the fancied Tshwane giants for much of the clash before they eventually succumbed to Sipho Ngqakabana’s finish in the 70th minute.
It’s a fourth win on the bounce for Masandawana, while the Buccaneers inconsistent run of form continues and dropped down to fourth-place on the table standings.

Title holders Stellenbosch FC remained in touching distance with league leaders Kaizer Chiefs following a 2-0 victory over AmaZulu.
It took efforts from Cheswyn Philander and Jeandre Gafoor to see the Maroons over the line and course for back-to-back titles.
Chippa United 2-2 Magesi FC
Chippa United were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw against Magesi FC in a fiercely contested bottom-half engagement.
The stalemate sees Dikwena Tsa Meetse end a six-match losing run, while the Chilli Boys who have won just two matches all season remain at the bottom with four matches to go.
Golden Arrows 2-1 Polokwane City
Golden Arrows' buoyant end to the season continued after picking up a hard-fought 2-1 win over Polokwane City in a mid-table encounter.
Abafana Besthende hit the front earlier on through Sfundo Shezi, but were pegged back as Rise and Shine forced the first half to end on an equal footing.
Nonetheless, the KwaZulu-Natal out regained ascendancy and bagged the winner courtesy of Lindani Ndelu.
Marumo Gallants FC 6-2 SuperSport United
SuperSport United’s barren run in the DStv Diski Challenge continued after suffering a humiliating 6-2 defeat at the hands of Marumo Gallants FC on Sunday.
The Tshwane giants, who have battled to find form in recent matches, came unstuck from the get-go as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa stormed into a three-goal lead at halftime.
It didn’t get better for Matsatsantsa after the home team raced strengthened their grip on proceedings and sealed all of the points.
Sekhukhune United 0-0 Cape Town City
Sekhukhune United and Cape Town City shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbiljpark.
It’s a third successive draw for the Citizens, while Babina Noko’s inconsistent run of form continues and remain within the top-half standings on the table.
