Chiefs secure back-to-back Diski wins

Kaizer Chiefs 4-3 SuperSport United

Kaizer Chiefs registered a second successive victory after coming from behind to defeat SuperSport Unite SuperSport United in the DStv Diski Challenge on Sunday.

Matsatsantsa raced to an early lead through Shandre Campbell, who quickly ended up with a brace after getting another to leave the Amakhosi on the back-foot.

Chiefs pulled one back on the stroke of halftime with a spot-kick from Donay Jansen and equalised a few minutes following the break through Omega Mdaka.

However, the Tshwane boys managed to regain the ascendancy midway through the second half as Campbell bounced to complete a hat-trick.

SuperSport didn't though end the match with a full complement of players after goalkeeper Taitz earned a red card for handling the ball outside his area later on.

The Amakhosi used their numerical advantage to good effect five minutes from time and saw Thulani Mabaso level matters before Jansen got the winner to leave United shattered at the death.

Orlando Pirates 4-0 Moroka Swallows

Orlando Pirates recorded back-to-back wins in the DStv Diski Challenge with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Moroka Swallows in the Soweto derby at the Rand Stadium on Saturday.

The Buccaneers were ahead late in the first half through Lonwabo Magugwana with a well-taken finish from a set-play and left the opposite number flat-footed.

Swallows opened themselves up again shortly after the break and conceded a second as Lulama Nxumalo got on the end of a cutback to find the net.

It didn't end there for the Dube Birds, who were left open once again and saw a solo run from Mohau Nkota led him to make it three before he went and bagged a brace towards fulltime with an identical finish and rounded off the clash.

Sekhukhune United 3-2 AmaZulu

Sekhukhune United secured a third consecutive win to remain in the Diski Challenge with an entertaining 3-2 victory over AmaZulu.

Forward Kutlwano Majoro set the host on the way, but Usuthu were level later on and actually saw the half conclude all square.

Babina Noko bagged a second a little to ten minutes from the resumption courtesy of former Kaizer Chiefs teen protégé Keletso Sifama.

Sekhukhune did finish the match with a reduced number of players just before the end, as Kidd Taaibos got his marching orders for a coming-together.

Reneilwe Letsholonyane's men drew level once again, but the host had the last laugh as Jordan Marks found the winner with the last kick of the game to maintain their perfect start to the season.

Golden Arrows 2-2 Polokwane City

Golden Arrows overturned a two-goal deficit and forced a 2-2 draw against Polokwane City down at the Chatsworth Stadium.

Rise and Shine raced to a two-goal lead with Thabang Matli making the breakthrough minutes following kick-off before Sello Makhina added to the equation shortly thereafter.

However, Abafana Besthende managed to pull one back ahead of halftime courtesy of Sphenhle Mkhize and snatched a point with two minutes to play through Connor Dunnet.

Chippa United 3-2 Cape Town City

Chippa United made it back-to-back wins after seeing off Cape Town City 3-2 in an entertaining contest out in the Eastern Cape province.

It's the Chilli Boys second win a row following last weekend's success over Polokwane City, while City failed to build on their win over Stellenbosch FC.

Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 Richards Bay FC

Mamelodi Sundowns grabbed their first win of the season in the Diski Challenge with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Richards Bay FC.

Masandawana raced to a quick two-goal cushion before the Natal Rich Boys issued a reply in the last minute of the first half from the boot of Siphesihle Buthelezi.

The Brazilians continued to hold the momentum despite the visitors surge and wrapped up the points with the final nail coffin.

Cape Town Spurs 2-4 Royal AM

Royal AM's strong start to the season continued following a dominant 4-2 victory over the newbies Cape Town Spurs and moved to the top of the table.

The two teams were level pegging during the interval, but Thwhili Thwahla turned out inspired in the second half and claimed the maximum points of the season.

Stellenbosch FC 0-1 TS Galaxy

Stellenbosch FC dropped points for the second match running after going down 1-0 to an in-form TS Galaxy on their own turf.

The Rockets edged another Western Cape outfit last weekend in the way of Cape Town Spurs, while the Maroons lost to Cape Town Spurs.

However, the Urban Warriors weren't spared this time around and saw the Rockets get over the line to keep their fine start to the season remain on track.
