Chiefs secure comeback win over Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 Orlando Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs came from a goal down to clinch the bragging rights over Orlando Pirates with a 2-1 win in the DStv Diski Challenge table on Saturday.

The Amakhosi missed star player and free-scoring Neo Bohloko, who were on national under-17 duty, with the Buccaneers seeing Siphamandla Msezane up top and spear-heading matters.

After a goalless half, the Buccaneers raced in front through a fine strike by Matlou Sepale but the Soweto giants hit back not long thereafter courtesy of Aiden McCarthy's spot-kick.

The clash seemed to end level until a certain Nkosana Mbuthu rose to the fore to get the man from Naturena over the line and furthermore ensured a winning end to the year.

The win takes the Amakhosi up to second spot, two points behind Stellenbosch while the Buccaneers languish in eighth position.

SuperSport United 1-0 Sekhukhune United

SuperSport United left it late to finish the first half of the year in style after seeing off Sekhukhune United 1-0 and remained in top-five.

Matsatsantsa also ensured successive victories following last weekend's win over Magesi FC, with the visitors handed another loss on top of the past weekend set-back at table-toppers Stellenbosch FC.

With the match destined to finish goalless, Matsatsantsa backed the winner at the death courtesy of a stunning effort by Manelis Mazibuko as the loss leaves Babina Noko in the bottom-half.

The Tshwane outfit now end the year in third position with the narrow victory.
