Sundowns thrash CT City, Stellies remain top

Mamelodi Sundowns 5-1 Cape Town City

Mamelodi Sundowns extended their winning run in the DStv Diski Challenge following a commanding 5-1 victory over Cape Town City.

The dominance from the Tshwane giants showed the men from the mother city no mercy with Thapelo Maseko and Siyabonga Mabena netting twice each before Ngqakabana joined in the act.

It's yet another win in astounding fashion for the big-spending Masandawana, as the Cityzens inconsistent campaign continues.

Orlando Pirates 3-0 Chippa United

Orlando Pirates made it back-to-back wins to remain amongst the pace-setters after brushing off Chippa United 3-0 at the Rand Stadium.

With the first half seeing no goals, the Buccaneers turned out in the second pumped up and got in front through Mxolisi Masilela and Siphamandla Msezane.

Mehluleli Maphumulo made it completely safe in the dying minutes with the third and put the daylight between them and men from the Eastern Cape province.

Magesi FC 0-1 Richards Bay FC

Richards Bay FC bounced back to get their campaign on track once again and edged Magesi FC 1-0 to remain in the top eight bracket.

After an impressive 2-2 draw with Kaizer Chiefs last weekend, the Natal Rich Boys came into the match looking to continue their upward trajectory.

It turned out to be exactly that way as a finish in the earlier stages of the second half from Nkosiyethu proved to be the winning strike.

Polokwane City 0-4 Kaizer Chiefs

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs got back to winning ways to remain in the top-three in the DStv Diski Challenge following a 4-0 victory over Polokwane City on Sunday.

Goals from Thulani Mabaso, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Kabelo Nkgwesa and Mpho Khethang were all it took for the Glamour Boys to get over the line.

It's a return on the winning path for Dillon Sheppard's men who were held to a gruelling 2-2 draw against Richards Bay FC last time out.

Stellenbosch FC 5-0 Golden Arrows

Stellenbosch FC returned to the top of the table ahead of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns after thumping Golden Arrows 5-0 in the Winelands.

Tyler Cicero, a fine effort from Faiz Abrahams with Cheswyn Philander on the act gave the Maroons a perfect cushion at the interval.

Stellies remained on the up with Abafana Besthende battling to come alive and added two with Kyle Bailey firing in a brace in quick succession.

TS Galaxy 3-0 Sekhukhune United

Sekhukhune United's surging run of form were brought to a halt and suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to TS Galaxy in Braamfontein.

Babina Noko had been on a three-match unbeaten run prior to the match and finding the net with regularity too, but now came unstuck against the Rockets.

It's only a second victory of the season for the home team who are coached by ex-Kaizer Chiefs stalwart Bernard Parker.

SuperSport United 2-2 Marumo Gallants FC

SuperSport United squandered a clear two-goal lead and played out a 2-2 draw against the winless Marumo Gallants FC out in Atteridgeville.

Matsatsantsa hit the ground running in earnest and were two goals to the good at the interval courtesy of Tumelo Machete and Mohlaloga.

As successive wins seemed on the cards, Bahlabane Ba Ntwa pulled back in the second period and snatched a point.
