It's yet another defeat for the Dube Birds which leaves them in the bottom-two – agonizingly adrift basement boys Polokwane City.
TS Galaxy 0-1 Mamelodi Sundowns
A late strike saw Mamelodi Sundowns record a 1-0 win over TS Galaxy in the penultimate weekend of the campaign and maintained second-place.
The victory also keep the Maroons' title pursuit well on ice and onto the final week, with the Brazilians keen to lock down the runners-up slot.
Galaxy weren't able to keep the run of results going – having won last weekend's showing with Golden Arrows only to fall short this time around.
Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 Sekhukhune United
A rampant Kaizer Chiefs hammered Sekhukhune United 4-1 in the penultimate DStv Diski Challenge match-up at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The Soweto giants took some time to get going but managed to find rhythm and hit the front in the second period courtesy of Xolani Mabaso. Babina Noko replied a little later through Gift Ngobeni.
However, the Amakhosi remained in ascendancy and extended advantage with Mabaso on strike again and joined by Donay Jansen and Manqoba Ozoemena.
Royal AM 1-1 AmaZulu
Royal AM and AmaZulu couldn't be separated but shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a key KwaZulu-Natal derby encounter.
It's back-to-back stalemates for Usuthu, whereas Thwihli Thwahla halt a run of consecutive defeats with both teams remaining in the bottom-half bracket.
Cape Town Spurs 2-1 Polokwane City
Cape Town Spurs leaned closer to cement a top eight spot on the table following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over bottom boys Polokwane City.
The Urban Warriors, who have blown hot and cold this season, were dominant from the onset as Rise and Shine aimed to continue their steady rise.
Nonetheless, the host showed complete authority and ended up with all the points on offer – leaving City shattered and pointless.
Golden Arrows 3-3 Chippa United
Chippa United fought back from a halftime deficit to claim a 3-3 draw with Golden Arrows in a mid-table encounter in the KwaZulu-Natal province.
The Chilli Boys didn't need long to get going but were ahead eight minutes through Asanele Funani, but Kwanele Majozi restored parity a while later and added another to see them ahead.
Majozi bagged a third past the break to complete a fine day's work, as Chippa pushed gallantly later on and a saw a quick double from Mbongeni Mthembu claim a point.
Orlando Pirates 3-2 Cape Town City
Orlando Pirates finished the last home encounter of the season in style following a thrilling 3-2 victory over Cape Town City in the DStv Diski Challenge on Sunday.
It's another win for the Buccaneers who keep the top-two hopes alive, with Tebogo Masemola making the breakthrough on the stroke halftime.
City replied afterwards but it was short-lived after Masemola once more turned up for the Sea Robbers to extend the lead and completed his brace.
Joseph Makhanya's men enjoyed complete control inside the closing exchanges and saw Mehluleli Maphumulo add a third, but City bagged a second though victory went the way of the Buccaneers.
SuperSport United 4-2 Richards Bay FC
SuperSport United brushed Richards Bay FC aside in convincing fashion following a 4-2 victory and cemented fifth-place in Atteridgeville.
Both teams were quick out of the blocks before the visitors went ahead Thabisa Ndelu only for Thabang Mahlangu to respond.
Mahlangu added another after the break and soon completed his hat-trick with Thandoluhle Gazu having drawn matters level and saw Nkosi compound matters late on.
