Diski SuperSport end Chiefs' winning run

SuperSport United 1-0 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs saw their perfect start to the season in the DStv Diski Challenge come to an end after going down 1-0 to a ten-man SuperSport United on Sunday.

Chiefs had started the season like a house on fire, winning all of their matches but came unstuck against a certain Matstsantsa who relentless approach reigned true in the end.

Matsatsantsa finished the match with ten players as Sabre Benjamin walked the plank for a second bookable offence, though it didn't deter Keenan Bezuidenhout to bag the winning goal.

Stellenbosch FC 2-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns suffered yet another defeat and lost ground with the pace-setters after going down 2-1 to Stellenbosch FC out on the road.

Sundowns made the perfect start, but were pegged back after the interval when a certain Kyle Bailey levelled, with the Maroons seeing Tyler Cicero get his marching orders at the same time.

That didn't unsettle matters at all though, with the Maroons still going on to claim the maximum points when Tauric Gamildien grabbed the winner minutes to fulltime.

Polokwane City 1-1 Magesi FC

Newly-promoted Magesi FC missed the chance to secure back-to-back victories and settled to just a 1-1 draw with Polokwane City in the Limpopo derby.

Rise and Shine remain winless from the opening round of matches, whereas Magesi lie in the top-half in and around the pace-setters.

Cape Town City 6-1 Marumo Gallants FC

Cape Town City surged to the top of the table and continued their fine start to the season with a crushing 6-1 victory over Marumo Gallants FC.

The Citizens have been on fire since the campaign commenced and doesn't seem like slowing down, with a double each from Shakeel April and Jody Ah Shene setting the tone against Gallants.

As Gallants pulled one back, the Citizens remained on strong as Cee-jay Bezuidenhout and own-goal brought the contest to a complete close.

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Sekhukhune United

Orlando Pirates secured a second straight win in the DStv Diski Challenge through a narrow 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United and moved within the top-four on Saturday.

Babina Noko were on the edge from the start of matters before eventually going down to an early finish from Siphamandla Msezane.

There were a chance for Babina Noko to come back and level it up through a penalty moments apart, but failed to capitalise and stumbled to their defeat of the season.

TS Galaxy 1-1 Golden Arrows

TS Galaxy and Golden Arrows remained winless down in the bottom-half bracket after playing to a tense 1-1 draw in Braamfontein.

It's the third successive draw for the Rockets, with Abafana Besthende registering their first point of the season on the other hand.

Both goals came in the first half, with Khumo Matlala on strike for the home side before Kwanele Majozi turned up and bagged a point for Abafana Besthende minutes to fulltime.

AmaZulu 1-0 Chippa United

AmaZulu finally hit the winning note in the new campaign and picked up a narrow 1-0 victory over Chippa United on their own turf.

The victory serves as the first since current incumbent Vusumuzi Vilakazi took the reins before the start of the season, whilst Chippa suffer yet another loss.

Attacker Tshepo Mashigo continued his rich vein of form in front of goal after scoring last weekend against Polokwane City and struck the winner this time around with moments to go.
