DStv Diski Challenge wrap

Kaizer Chiefs got back to winning ways in the DStv Diski Challenge following a 3-2 victory over AmaZulu at the Wits Football Stadium on Saturday.

Two goals in the first half from Puso Dithejane followed before Mduduzi Shabalala made it comfortable a little in the second period.

Usuthu targeted a lifeline through Tebogo Masuku and Lankie Khoza, but the Amakhosi wrapped up the contest and confirmed the victory.

Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City experienced a lacklustre display in front of goal thus played to a goalless draw at the Wits Football Stadium.

The Citizens looked to have snatched the lead late in the match but the woodwork and astounding goalkeeping from Elijah Sithole kept them out.

Pirates also tried to go ahead through top scorer Boitumelo Radiopane, but he was met with a goal-line clearance and stout defensive work by the Citizens as it ended even-stevens.

Stellenbosch FC cemented second spot as they managed to power past the struggling Swallows FC 4-2 at the same venue in Braamfontein.

The Maroons hit the ground running from through Devon Titus, Liam De Kock and Tshepo Myeni before Mervin Boji bagged a fourth shortly after Ian Makaringe reduced matters.

Although, as a penalty strike from Tiniko Sithole seemed to hand the Dube Birds a comeback from the death the visitors marched on to victory nonetheless.

TS Galaxy brought their run of two matches without a win to a stop with a 4-0 victory away to Sekhukhune United.

Galaxy played a draw in their past encounter against Swallows FC and the host lost out to second-place Stellenbosch FC.

The Rockets saw strikes from Nkosinathi Sibande, Koketso Modise, Letoke Mahlase and Kamogelo Sebelebele hand them this commanding victory over Babina Noko.

Mamelodi Sundowns collected two wins in a row following a 2-1 victory over Marumo Gallants FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The goals from Thato Matli and Oageng Phiri granted the Brazilians the three points and another victory in their path to enter the top-three bracket.

SuperSport United were at the receiving end of a 3-0 drubbing by Golden Arrows and stopped from getting back to winning ways following last week's draw with Marumo Gallants FC.

Matsatsantsa trailed in the first 15 minutes through Samkelo Mzolo, who helped himself to a brace minutes towards halftime and completed his hat-trick in the dying minutes
