Chiefs & Royal AM play out thrilling Diski draw

Kaizer Chiefs 3-3 Royal AM

Kaizer Chiefs surrendered the lead three times to draw 3-3 against Royal AM in the DStv Diski Challenge at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.

Puso Dithejane gave Chiefs an early lead before Bandile Dlamini levelled ahead of halftime only for Wandile Duba to restore the Amakhosi's cushion early in the second period.

Royal AM hit back in style after substitute Philani Sithebe's free-kick found the far corner, but Donny Jansen got the Amakhosi ahead towards fulltime before Jordan Sampson's own-goal gave AM a point.

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Maritzburg United

Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways and jumped into the top-half of the DStv Diski Challenge table with a 1-0 victory over Maritzburg United on Saturday.

An early finish from Njabulo Mndebelele was all it took to separate the Buccaneers and the Team of Choice and effectively handed the Ghost maximum points.

Golden Arrows 0-1 Sekhukhune United

A ten-man Golden Arrows weren't able to consolidate their spot in the top-five following a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Sekhukhune United at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

The host were down to ten players after goalkeeper Nqubeko Zuke got his marching orders for a professional foul before Tshepo Mashigo came up with the winner minutes before time.

Chippa United 1-1 TS Galaxy

TS Galaxy remained winless and at the basement of the table following a 1-1 draw against Chippa United at the Wolfson Stadium in Gqeberha.

The Rockets were in the ascendancy for a majority of the match courtesy of Luke Mbuwe's effort, but Chippa clawed back and forced the clash to finish all square.

Stellenbosch FC 1-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns came from behind early on to see out a 1-1 draw against the defending champions Stellenbosch FC.

The title holders made the perfect start as Shaakir Ahmed grabbed the front-foot, but the Brazilians levelled within a minute and in the end played a stalemate.

Richards Bay FC 2-2 Marumo Gallants FC

New boys Richards Bay FC overturned a two-goal deficit to hold Marumo Gallants FC to a 2-2 draw at the Princes Magogo Stadium.

A penalty early in the first half from Sibusiso Nkosi gave Gallants the lead and the player in question went on to double his and his team's tally ahead of the interval.

The Natal Rich Boyz hit back after halftime through a smart finish from Mfundi Ngema and levelled with a stunning free-kick by Lwandile Mabuya, whilst Nhlanhla Sangweni saw red a little before fulltime.

Cape Town City 0-0 SuperSport United

Following their maiden defeat last week, Cape Town City failed to return to winning ways and were held to a goalless draw by SuperSport United.

Ian Taylor's boys, who have been the team to beat so far this season, had their perfect start ended last weekend by Royal AM whereas United played to a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates last time out.
