Mamelodi Sundowns 4-2 Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates missed the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge following a 4-2 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Giant Stadium on Saturday.
Jerome Karelse got the opener after halftime before Njabulo Mndebele equalised for the Buccaneers just after the first half had finished goalless.
Sundowns went back ahead a little later courtesy of Thato Matli, but it didn't last long as Mohau Nkota brought the Sea Robbers level with a smart finish.
However, Sundowns took full control of the contest and were ahead through substitute Sipho Maluleke's snap finish from close-range.
Karelse wrapped up the contest and handed the Brazilians victory to see the side in sixth spot and denied the Buccaneers maximum points.
SuperSport United 2-0 Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs missed the opportunity to edge closer to the top-half standing and went down 2-0 to SuperSport United, who jumped to third place.
The Amakhosi had to make a change in the goalkeeping department in the first half, with Langelihe Nkosi stretchered off and Mpho Molekwane introduced.
SuperSport went to find the opener through Shandre Campbell later on and made it two as Dan Tshimanga fired in off the underside of the crossbar to confirm the three points.
Marumo Gallants FC 0-2 Cape Town City
Cape Town City widened their advantage at the summit of the table in the Diski Challenge courtesy of a 2-0 win over Marumo Gallants FC.
City made a strong opening and broke the deadlock just following the half-hour mark when a deep-floated delivery saw Aphelele Modolwana head in the top corner.
The Citizens bagged a second on the stroke of halftime through a composed one-on-one finish from Lisakhanyo Nene after he beat the offside trap from a threaded ball in behind.
Gallants were close to cut the deficit late on with a first-time volley outside the area by Sibusiso Nkosi that rattled the woodwork, as it ended 2-0 to City.
Sekhukhune United 0-0 AmaZulu
Sekhukhune United failed to make it back-to-back wins as the host played to a goalless draw against AmaZulu in Polokwane.
Babina Noko are ninth on the table and just outside the top eight, with Usuthu fourth on the table on the back of this point gained.
Royal AM 1-2 Maritzburg United
Maritzburg United got back to winning ways following last weekend's 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC and pushed Royal AM aside 2-1 in the KwaZulu-Natal derby.
Asanda Buthelezi netted either side of the half amidst the response from Thwihli Thwahla and ensured victory that keeps them in 13th spot and AM just one spot above.
TS Galaxy 0-0 Golden Arrows
Golden Arrows were denied successive wins in the Diski Challenge following a goalless draw against TS Galaxy at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Mpumalanga.
The draw have Abafana Besthende seventh on the table and the Rockets down four places in 11th and five points ahead of their counterparts.
Swallows FC 2-1 Stellenbosch FC
Stellenbosch FC also failed to close the gap on the table-toppers Cape Town City following a 2-1 loss to second-bottom Swallows FC in Soshanguve.
Thato Makua put the Dube Birds earlier on with an easy finish from close-range, but Jaylen Trent clawed the Maroons level soon after the break.
The Dube Birds, though, bagged the winner in the closing minutes when Thato Ngonyama applied a scorching finish from a tight angle and aided his side's quest to climb up the table.
Richards Bay FC 2-1 Chippa United
Chippa United remained rooted at the table after going down 2-1 to the new boys Richards Bay FC at the Mpumalanga Stadium in a bottom-half encounter.
A double in the first half from Sanele Mchunu guided the Natal Rich Boyz to maximum points in spite of the Chilli Boys pulling one back, as the win keep the host in the bottom-three.
