Each designer was given the opportunity to conceptualise and re-shape the soccer ball in their own image. The one-off pieces were eventually auctioned off on eBay, with the proceeds going towards a charity project called Make Kids Happy, organised in conjunction with adidas and luxury shopping site Luisaviaroma
Some of the designs included a piece from Roberto Cavalli, a Florence, Italy-based designer known for his taste for exotic patterns who covered his ball in a striking leopard print along with black and light brown sparkly rhinestones.
Musician Pharell Williams brought his design sensibilities to the table with a simple execution of a tiny figure drawing next to his signature.
Creations from other fashion houses included Dolce Gabbana, Etro, and Antonio Marras were also auctioned off on eBay for the Gol de Letra Foundation that gives aid to Brazilian youth programs.
