Former DStv Premiership star returns to Mzansi for vibes

A former DStv Premiership star, who now plies his trade in Europe, has returned to South Africa to enjoy some of the best holiday destinations.

What Happened?

Peter Leeuwenburgh amassed a huge reputation in Mzansi for being one of the best shot stoppers in the league with the 28-year-old helping Cape Town City to their maiden MTN8 title.

However, the goalkeeper revealed that he wants to return home and earned a move to Dutch club FC Groningen.

South Africa tends to leave a mark on many players in their short or long spells in the DStv Prem and Leeuwenburgh is no different as the star has brought his family back to SA shores.

While it remains unconfirmed as to why the footballer chose to spend a holiday in Western Cape, it must be said that any vacation here would be cheaper than most locations in Europe/

Cape Town also won a host of awards for being one of the world's best holiday destinations.

Leeuwenburgh career post SA

The man between the sticks enjoyed himself in Netherlands in his first season as he continues to shine with 35 appearances but this season has been different with the player only making 5 appearances this campaign and conceding eight in that time.

Did you know?

Leeuwenburgh told Kickoff that a transfer from Fortuna Sittard to Cape Town City was done in two days as contact was made on Wednesday and by Friday, the player was on his way to South Africa.
