Andyboi: Thanks, good to chat to you guys.
Andyboi: My full name is Andile Hlanze. I’m originally from Middelburg in Mpumalanga. I’m a DJ, producer and singer of predominantly house music.
Andyboi: I started in 2005 with a producer friend of mine Cueber. I actually studied Business Administration and then worked as a business analyst for an IT company. I decided to quit my job last year to concentrate fully on music last year.
Andyboi: Ja it was, but it’s been worth it! My job wasn’t giving me time at all to make music. But I had to sacrifice a lot. I even sold my car and started from scratch to follow my passion.
Andyboi: People are loving the album! My song ‘Emhlabeni’ reached no.1 on Angolan radio, apart from being played extensively on local radio stations. I even received compliments from industry legends such as DJ Christos and DJ Ganyani which is an amazing feeling.
Andyboi: Yes! I’ve been supporting Kaizer Chiefs since I was a kid. I actually grew up with Orlando Pirates player, Happy Jele. We’re both from Middleburg and lived in the same street. My house is right behind a stadium so I would see him going to train and push himself hard. He’s a cool guy and a go-getter that boy. He also does a lot for the community.
Andyboi: Siphiwe Tshabalala has been doing it for me on the field. I like his style and his skills. He’s a great all round player.
Andyboi: ‘Light it up’ is a very inspirational song. This song is about inspiring people not to give up on their dreams. And if you work hard you can become successful like Shabba.
Andyboi: Jabu Mahlangu, because he’s one of my favourite players of all time.
Andyboi: I’m planning a nationwide tour with Soul Candi. I’m also planning a CD launch maybe in Soweto or my home town, as well as international tours.
Andyboi: It’s a pleasure man. Cheers.
