Singer Simphiwe Dana releases new single

According to Dana, the release of the song ahead of Freedom Day reminds us of our past as a country and asks us to question and reflect on what has transpired 20 years later since our first democratic election in 1994.

“... reminded of what the past 20 years have been about and to point out whether we are meeting or failing Madiba’s vision - a reminder of the cost of freedom, and for ongoing freedom to be translated to a better life for all”.

The music video for ‘NZIMA’ will be broadcast this week alongside the release of the single. Themba Sibeko of White Heron Pictures produced the video shot at Morris Isaacson High School – the landmark location of the 1976 Soweto uprising.

“We understand the value of music as a spiritual conduit for the divine in us all,” concluded Simphiwe Dana.
