Lamontville Golden Arrows have finally broken their silence on rumours suggesting their star midfielder Pule Mmodi is joining Orlando Pirates.
According to sources Arrows had agreed to sell the player to the Soweto giants provided Pirates allow Ntsako Makhubela to rejoin them on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Arrows have since announced Makhubela's arrival.
"At this stage, there's nothing we can report about Pule up until something happens," Arrows media officer Comfort Thusi tells KickOff.
"If something happens, we will release a statement.
"But for now Pule is contracted to Arrows, and he is ready and preparing for our game against SuperSport United on Saturday.
"So, there's nothing new, the rumours and hearsays that are all over are just that, rumours."
Asked about the player's contract which is believed to be expiring at the end of the season, Thusi responded.
"Pule still has an existing contract with the club and it will expire the day it expires [laughs].
"He's got his contract copy, and the PSL have their copy.
"Like we did yesterday with Ntsako Makhubela, once everything was finalised we released a statement that we have loaned Ntsako Makhubela back from Pirates.
"It's the same with Pule with any other player, if there's anything that needs to be reported we will report it.
"At the moment everything that is being said in the media it's just hearsay.
"We've been saying, if there's any club interested in Pule us as Golden Arrows we are not standing in his way we will release him.
"So if ever there's a club interested in him we will let him go, that's if we agreed in terms in conditions."
