Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi reveals plan to stop high-flying SuperSport United

Golden Arrows co-head coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has outlined his plan to stop high-flying SuperSport United as they prepare to do battle in a DStv Premiership clash on Saturday.

Abafana Bes'thende go into the fixture on the back of a home loss to Kaizer Chiefs on New Year's Eve that dropped them down to tenth position on the DStv Premiership table.

At the opposite corner of the ring, Gavin Hunt's SuperSport United are yet to miss a step since the restart of the league after the FIFA World Cup.

Matsatsana return to Premiership action with a slender 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants and saw off Cape Town City with the same score line just three days later to kick off their 2023.

Hunt's men are just one of three team in the division without a single loss in their last five games behind Richards Bay and Mamelodi Sundowns.

"We will pay more attention to our defensive structure against SuperSport," Vilakazi said.

"We played against SuperSport in friendly game, we know what their strengths are, and they know what our weaknesses are: that when they are playing crosses and relying on set pieces they are bound to get something."

"It's something that we're working on as a team. We know somethings can't be rectified overnight, but we need to do more repetition to make sure that they [Arrows players] compete in the set-pieces and things like that.

"That's the only thing we know that when we go to SuperSport we'll struggle with. But in terms of playing, [that] doesn't worry us too much, we just need to be productive."
