Komphela: The good thing about facing Pirates...

Golden Arrows head coach Steve Komphela has revealed how he plans to approach the game against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership's Saturday late afternoon match.

Komphela has turned the fortunes of Arrows around, as the KwaZulu-Natal side is yet to lose since the former Moroka Swallows head coach took charge in early March.

The experienced tactician won his first two matches at Abafana Bes'thende, before a 2-2 draw against SuperSport United in midweek, where they came back from two goals down to salvage a point.

Before the return of the 56-year-old coach, Arrows had lost 11 matches in a row under Mabhuti Khenyeza.

Speaking to journalists after the game against Matsatsantsa, Komphela says their aim is revive the Abafana Bes'thende way of playing and that they will continue to do so even against Pirates at Orlando Stadium.

"Golden Arrows going to Orlando Pirates is Golden Arrows, it's not about the coach or whatever. So, we're trying to check our DNA, our template, our process, up against the best available in the country," he told reporters at Mpumalanga Stadium.

"Go to Orlando Pirates, play the Golden Arrows way. The same with SuperSport, we said, 'Listen, go to SuperSport and play the way Golden Arrows plays at any given time'.

"Put your game to the test to anyone, but play your game, lose your way, win your way, because the worst is to have a win that is accidental, a win that you can't define, a win that you don't know how it came about," he explained.

"But even a loss at the back of what you have been trying to do, you can always go back and say, 'This is where we went wrong'. You wouldn't wish to play Pirates after three days, but the good thing is that we don't have suspensions," the erudite mentor added.
