Nhlapo: This Chiefs was built by Arthur Zwane

Kaizer Chiefs Great Zebulon "Sputla" Nhlapo says Arthur Zwane should be given credit for producing the majority of the youngsters in the club's current first team.

Zwane coached most of the club's youngsters at their DStv Diski Challenge team, before promoting them to the first team.

Aden McCarthy, Happy Mashiane, Njabulo Blom, Samukelo Zwane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Mduduzi Tshabalala, Mfundo Vilakazi, and Wandile Duba, all graduated under the watchful eye of Arthur Zwane.

Nhlapo singled out Samukelo Zwane as one of Arthur Zwane's perfect products.

"Samukelo Zwane is a very, very good player; he no longer needs a loan stint somewhere; he now deserves a chance at Kaizer Chiefs," Nhlapo tells KickOff.

"It was my first time seeing him being allowed to play for a full 90 minutes.

"All Arthur Zwane's students are becoming mature now. All these youngsters in the current Kaizer Chiefs team were Arthur's students.

"Let's not avoid the truth, Arthur made these youngsters. They were developed by him.

"Today, the likes of Ngezane are playing overseas; they were trained by Arthur.

"So this youngster Zwane, he is pushing, and he is still on his side. He just needs more games.

"I like what this coach Nabi is doing with these boys; he does give them a chance. To me, he is the best coach. We undermined him when he started, but now we can see what he can do.

"He didn't chase anyone away, he kept everybody. The majority of those players at Chiefs were there even last season.

"You see now when Chiefs are playing, every player is running looking for the ball; no one stands still. That's how Arthur built them.

"Nabi he only added about three players, he is the best coach this one we have now. Let's give him a chance and not rush to expect him to win the Carling Knockout or to beat Mamelodi Sundowns.

"I'm very happy with the current Chiefs team; even against Sundowns, they died fighting."
