Zwane prepared for Chiefs fixture congestion

Arthur Zwane has revealed how he will approach Kaizer Chiefs' fixture congestion with the club set to play seven matches during the month of October.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs played out a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-finals on Sunday in the first of seven matches the club are scheduled to play in October.

Zwane's charges are set to be back in league action on Tuesday away to Swallows FC before taking on Stellenbosch FC Chippa United and TS Galaxy in quick succession.

Those fixtures are tailed by the return leg against AmaZulu on 23 October before the month is finally rounded out with a Soweto derby clash against rivals Orlando Pirates on 29 October.

Following Sunday's match, Zwane revealed that he would have to manage his players amid the fixture congestion but that him and his coaching team had prepared for the packed fixture list.

"Look, tomorrow we will have readjourned and then on Tuesday it is matchday-minus-one, so it's a case of managing players more than anything else," he said during his post-match press conference.

"We have Swallows, we have Stellenbosch in Cape Town – after Stellenbosch we will at least have one week where we can try and recharge our batteries fully for the next games – so we are not that worried.

"We prepared very well for these back-to-back games. We will be ready for Swallows as well. Unfortunately today, we couldn't get the desired result but we are going to go to Dobsonville and make sure we grind out a result there."
