Bobsteak breaks silence on Njabulo Blom contract standoff

Kaizer Chiefs returned to training today and the club's football manager Bobby Motaung has issued the latest on fan-favourite Njabulo Blom.

According to media reports, the club and the player have reached a blockbuster agreement and a new deal will be announced soon.

According to Bobsteak nothing has been agreed upon yet but did promise they are planning to hold a meeting soon with the talented youngster.

Blom's current deal with the glamour club of South African football ends in June 2023, something that has raised a lot of concerns amongst the club's faithful.

He is approaching the last six months of his contract.

The versatile Blom is a very important member of the current Amakhosi team as he can play both as a full-back and a central midfielder.

Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane understands very well that having Blom in his squad is like he has two players in one body as the 22-year-old can play more than one position.

His performances for Chiefs this season have seen him earn his first Bafana Bafana call-up.

In January Blom will be free to sign a pre-contract with a team of his choice.

"We've just re-opened today, So we haven't started negotiating about players and contracts," Motaung tells KickOff.

Pressed further on reports that the club and the player have finally reached an agreement, Motaung said,

"I don't know where that came from, I never had a meeting with Blom.

"Yes we do have plans to sit down with him, but for now, they only started training today."
