BREAKING | Chiefs confirm attacker's exit

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of winger Kgaogelo Sekgota, ending a two-year stay with the Soweto giants.

The 26-year-old made 29 appearances for Amakhosi last season, providing two assists. Overall, Sekgota made 48 appearances over two seasons at Chiefs.

After starting as season as one of the most prominent players in Arthur Zwane's side, Sekgota fell drastically down the pecking order, managing his last start of Chiefs in a 2-1 defeat to Chippa United in October last year.

The speedy attacker failed to find the back of the net during his time at Amakhosi and is now understood to be on the verge of joining Stellenbosch.

Meanwhile, competition for places at Chiefs has also grown stiffer with the arrivals of Pule Mmodi from Lamontville Golden Arrows and Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City, who can both play on the wing.
