It was the first match Bvuma had played this season as the club's third-choice goalkeeper behind Brandon Petersen and Itumeleng Khune.
It was also the first match Bvuma had played in the calendar year 2023, having last appeared for Chiefs in a 2-2 draw against TS Galaxy in 2022.
Speaking at Vodacom event in Tembisa, the goalkeeper admitted that he was overtaken by emotions on the day.
"Of course, it was emotions, they took over," Bvuma explained.
"The thing is I knew that something like that would happen but I had said to myself that I was going to control myself but I just couldn't help it.
"But for me, it was more of a relief. It was all the pain that I have had over the past couple of months. It was the joy coming out of me. There were of a lot of things that were happening in my head.
"So yes, I cried. Some of my mates here call me a cry baby now (laughs), but of course, they understand. But it was just emotions that took over and also because I was happy with the performance of the team. I was also happy that I got an opportunity."
