Pitso Mosimane looks to be out of the race for the Kaizer Chiefs head coach position, with components of the technical team ahead of the 2024/25 season understood to be delaying the announcement of a new coach.
Chiefs supporters are waiting with baited breath on who will lead the team's technical staff ahead of the new season after a woeful campaign where they finished 10th on the standings, their worst finish in the PSL era.
KickOff.com reported last week that Nasreddine Nabi appears to be in pole position of all the candidates that were shortlisted by Amakhosi.
Subsequently, Alexandre Santos, who was one of the leading candidates, told Soccer Laduma that he had talks with the Soweto giants but nothing concrete came out of the discussions.

Mosimane was also believed to be among the coaches seriously considered by Chiefs, but the former Abha manager is seemingly no longer on Amakhosi's radar after SABC Sport reported on Soccer Zone that he said he had not been approached by the club, speaking on Monday on the sidelines of his court appearance at the Gauteng High Court.
This website broke the news that Chiefs held a meeting on Friday with their current technical team to map a way forward, in anticipation of a new head coach, who is expected to come with his own staff.
The club management is under pressure, not only from fans, but the issue of a head coach and the technical team is affecting potential new signings.
Prominent agent Mike Makaab revealed that they are in talks with the Soweto giants regarding players they have earmarked but the issue of the technical team being finalized is holding out the processes.
"There are talks, I cannot tell which players, but we're in talks relating to a few players and I'll tell you where the difficulty lies, as I understand it," Makaab said on Gagasi FM.
"I think Chiefs will have to settle their technical staff first. It's very difficult to make decisions on your playing staff until you put your technical staff in place.
"I'm sure Chiefs are gonna be announcing their technical staff going forward sooner or later. Once that happens, then we'll move forward," Makaab added.

It appears that what is holding the announcement of a new coach, believed to be Nabi, is the composition of his technical team, which could affect a number of departments at Naturena, including goalkeeping, sport science and analysis.
The Tunisian coach's AS FAR are left with only one game before the Botola Pro League season concludes. They second on the log, one point behind Josef Zinnbauer's Raja Casablanca.
FAR are also in the semi-finals of the Moroccan Throne Cup.
