Chiefs goalkeeper makes bold call on his future

Kaizer chiefs shot stopper Brandon Petersen has made a bold call on his future with Amakhosi.

Petersen has made 10 appearances for Amakhosi this season and has kept seven clean sheets. The 28-year-old kept three consecutive clean sheets during Chiefs recent run of three games without a loss, prior to Sunday's 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows.

'Beeza' is currently on a deal with Chiefs that is set to expire at the of the end of the 2023/24 season, but the goalkeeper has revealed that he fully intends to stick with Amakhosi.

"I want to play until 45-years-old. If they let me stay here," said Petersen.

"Chiefs is one of the biggest clubs in Africa. Who wouldn't want to be here. I always said that from here, I want to got to Europe – I want to go overseas if I get the opportunity and as long as they want me here, I'll stay here.

I don't have a problem with it.

"I like it here, they treat you well here. The facilities are world class and it's everything a professional player wants. As long as they want me here I will stay here."

Zwane defended the shot-stopper in a shock defeat to Arrows as Chiefs kept three clean-sheets in their previous three matches ahead of Saturday's crucial Soweto derby against Orlando pirates.
