Kaizer Chiefs appear to have taken one step forward and another back as they welcomed Dillan Solomons from a lengthy injury, only to lose another key player to a finger injury ahead of the new season.
Amakhosi supporters breathed a sigh of relief on hearing Solomons was spotted in the thick of things during a recent training session video, posted on the club's official Instagram account.
The speedy wingback has seemingly fully recovered from a shoulder injury he suffered in May.
That joy, however, has been short-lived as one player who was not spotted in that video or the club's recent training photos was goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.

Reports later emerged that the 29-year-old had suffered a broken figure during training and could possibly miss out on Chiefs' trip to Botswana, where they will take on Township Rollers as part of their preparations for the new season.
Petersen started in goal in the side's first competitive match in the Nasreddine Nabi era as they fell 4-0 to Tanzania champions Young Africans in the Toyota Cup.
His absence now leaves the race for the number one goalkeeper wide open.
Bruce Bvuma will fancy his chances having been the Glamour Boys' number one for the majority of last season, where he made 19 appearances across all competitions.

However, new signing Fiacre Ntwari is unlikely to settle for a role as back-up goalkeeper having been the number one choice at TS Galaxy with 24 appearances under his belt.
The Rwanda international will therefore be looking to convince the new head coach that he is worthy of a starting berth.
Chiefs have also promoted academy graduate Bontle Molefe, with the 21-year-old a part of the club's pre-season preparations, including the pre-season camp in Turkey.
