Miguel: Emotions were everywhere

Inacio Miguel has disclosed that playing for Kaizer Chiefs has come as a highlight of his career.

Miguel has been at Chiefs since August after making the switch from Angolan club Petro de Luanda having also previously played in Portugal, Romania, and Latvia.

His time at Chiefs has come with rough rides – serving suspension from four yellow cards, getting sent off, scoring, wearing the armband, and showing his commanding presence.

"I have to be honest for me, I have played professional for 11 years I can say without any problem that playing for Kaizer Chiefs has brought me the most pleasure," says Miguel. 

"I mean from the structure of the club and the love that we have, wherever we play, be it Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, or Polokwane.

"It is amazing to play for this shirt because you are always motivated because of the love that the supporters give us.

"So, for me it has been amazing since the first day I arrived, and I wish that we continue this way together and achieve a lot," he notes while sharing the experience of his first Soweto Derby. 

"It was my first Soweto Derby, so emotions were everywhere. 

"It was an amazing day for me to feel the real derby of Africa which for me is the biggest derby on the continent. 

"Unfortunately, we couldn't make the victory but as a first derby I was excited and tried to give my best to help the team.

"In the beginning of the game I was very happy and of course at the end of the game I was disappointed.

"My friend Hugo (Marques) who played in South Africa was given me tips on how to stay calm because this ordinary game.

"It was the first game that I experienced with so many fans in the stands," says Miguel.
