'Sirino is three players in one'

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Daniel 'Massaro' Matsau has lauded the club's new star, Gaston Sirino, for leading by example as he put on another shift worthy of applause in the Soweto giants' most recent game.

Sirino was on fire again on Wednesday as his introduction in the second half helped Chiefs bounce back from two goals down to draw 2-2 in a Betway Premiership match against newly-promoted Magesi FC.

"With Sirino, remember he arrived late at Chiefs, after his new teammates had started with pre-season," Matsau reminds KickOff.com.

"Kaizer Chiefs is gonna benefit a lot from Sirino this season. I think he's done well so far.

"They should have won the game against Magesi last night. Chiefs needed someone to penetrate the opposition's defence with passes, and they did that when Sirino came on.

"They missed someone like Edson Castillo, who was gonna attack those crosses Chiefs were putting inside the Magesi box.

"The crosses only found Ranga Chivaviro on his own inside the box because most of the guys in our team are short. The likes of Mduduzi Shabalala, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Mfundo Vilakazi, they all don't have height," adds the former marksman.

Matsau went on to laud the Magesi defence and how aggressive they were in duels.

"You could tell it was getting physical for Chiefs players when you saw them trying to shoot from a distance. Those Magesi players parked the bus. There was no space to penetrate.

"But in the second half, Sirino's two great passes made all the difference. A player like him was missing.

"In Sirino, Chiefs have got themselves three players in one. He is doing the job of three people."
