Chiefs set net wide for possible new goalkeeper

KickOff can exclusively reveal that Kaizer Chiefs have made enquiries on the availability of Angolan goalkeeper Hugo Marques.

Chiefs' interest in Marques comes as a surprise, considering the former Cape Town City shot-stopper's age.

The Angolan international goalkeeper is set to turn 38 years old in January 2024.

The Soweto giants are currently searching for a goalkeeper and have set their net wide across Africa.

According to a source close to Chiefs, the club contacted Hugo Marques recently to lure him back to South Africa.

"Kaizer Chiefs are looking for a goalkeeper. They are searching even outside the country.

"They have spoken to few goalkeepers outside the country, including Hugo Marques in Angola," a source informs KickOff.

Hugo Marques is currently on the books of Pedro Athletico de Luanda in Angola.
