Chiefs targets revealed ahead of PSL resumption

Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma says Kaizer Chiefs have set their sights on a return to continental football ahead of the second half of the season.

Despite a shaky start that saw them win just four of 13 matches, Chiefs went into the halfway season break on a good run of form that produced four wins from seven matches and took them up to fifth place on the DStv Premiership table after 16 matches.

The Soweto giants are still 14 points from below log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns but just two points behind fourth-placed Stellenbosch who have a match in hand.

Come May, a fourth-place finish for Amakhosi would grant them a return to continental football for the first time since 2021 while another opportunity for continental football exists in the form of the Nedbank Cup.

"Of course, there is still a lot to play for, we are looking forward for the league to resume. So that we can fight and finish in a better position," Bvuma told journalists at a Vodacom event in Tembisa.

"We are looking forward to the resumption of the league. We've been working very hard. We've only had a few days, like the coach (Johnson) mentioned. We've been working extremely hard.
