Nabi effect at Chiefs: ‘Players have stepped up’

Nasreddine Nabi has brought the feel-good factor back at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season.

This is according to Ranga Chivaviro – who is aiming for better returns in his second season at Chiefs after scoring only four goals in his first.

Chivaviro has embraced how Nabi has gone about his business at the Soweto, where he found a squad thin on confidence following that disappointing 10th place finish.

"In life in general, change is always good and with the change that has happened now at Kaizer Chiefs, it has brought a lot of good moral," says the big centre-forward.

"A lot of players have stepped up and for me, that is the change that has been happening and we want to take that change into the new season and bring good results for the club.

"Working with coach Nabi has been different, great, and for me personally, it has been a lot of learning.

"But what I think he emphasises a lot on is reminding us who Kaizer Chiefs is and what it takes to be here.

"Being in this circle must mean that you are quality, and he takes a lot of time to remind us and obviously tells us what is expected as a Kaizer Chiefs player.

"Obviously, that now alludes to what he expects from us as players and we know what we need to do this season to bring back the glory days to this club.

"Nabi is more of a coach who wants to understand what is going on with your life…," adds Chivaviro.
