Chiefs urged to snap up Bafana star

Kaizer Chiefs have been urged to step up their pursuit of in-demand star Rowan Human as competition for the Maritzburg United midfielder's signature heats up.

The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after players following some stand-out performances for The Team of Choice in the PSL Relegation/Promotion Playoffs and for Bafana Bafana in the recent Cosafa Cup tournament played in Durban.

"Yes, he [Human] would be a good signing. I think he is a player who will reach his full potential and already has a lot of experience at the top level for his age. So, I would sign him now for sure," Chiefs legend Fetsi Molatedi told KickOff.

Human made 31 appearances for Maritzburg United, scoring three goals in four matches during the playoffs and was on the score sheet for Bafana in a group-stage clash against Namibia. South Africa eventually finished third in the regional tournament.

Although Amakhosi are reportedly favourites to land the attacking midfielder's signature, they are not alone in the race. SuperSport United are also understood to be interested in the mix, with Human having worked with coach Gavin Hunt while at Wits.

Western Cape duo Stellenbosch and newly-promoted Cape Town Spurs are also now in the mix. Meanwhile, Maritzburg United chairman Farook has conceded to KickOff that Human will 'definitely' be leaving the club.
