Midfielder Keagan Dolly has set the record straight over reports of earning a over R1 million while Kaizer Chiefs.
The 31-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Amakhosi at the end of the 23/24 season. Dolly's exit ended what had been a three-year stay at Chiefs, having joined as free agent in 2021 after leaving French Ligue 1 outfit Montpelier.

During his time at Chiefs, Dolly was widely believed to be the club's highest earner – a tag the midfielder says is untrue and contributed to the high scrutiny he endured from supporters.
"Never! I wish! If I was [earning R1 million], I would be on the beach right now," Dolly said on MSW when asked about the 'R1 million' salary.
"Who said I earned a million in Montpellier.
"I don't know, there was a story on Twitter one day that I was earning R1.4 million and I was shocked as well because it's nowhere near that.
"People believed it and that's why I say that adds a lot of pressure on me and that's why people look at me like; 'You are the highest-paid player in the league, not only at the club but in the league, what are you giving us, what are you doing.
"So every time I stepped on the training field or stepped onto the training pitch, I had to handle myself a certain way because people expect that from the 'highest-paid player'.

"That comes with more pressure and it gave me a sense of trying to do more than what I had to do at the time, I felt like doing everyone else's role and forgetting about my own game.
"So yeah, that was a lie and it just brought a lot of pressure."
The former Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns man is still pondering his next move after a deal with SuperSport United failed to materialise.
