Caleb double ends Chiefs' winless run

Kaizer Chiefs got back to winning ways in the DStv Premiership after defeating SuperSport United 2-1, with Caleb Bimenyimana netting twice on Saturday night.

Mozambican international Edmilson Dove finally made his debut for Chiefs while Bimenyimana earned his first start in the absence of Khama Billiat.

It was a woeful start for the Amakhosi on 15 minutes where a quick one-touch move around the area allowed Grant Margeman to pounce and fire in off the far post following a layoff from Bradley Grobler.

SuperSport should've had a second from a corner-kick minutes later, but Thulani Hlatshwayo headed narrowly beyond the near post with the Amakhosi unable to clear their lines.

The Amakhosi first meaningful opening came just before the half-hour mark as Bimenyimana nodded a pin-point cross from the right wide of target.

Chiefs rallied ahead thereafter and levelled when Bimenyimana attacked a delivery from Ashley Du Preez and turned home for his first for the club since arriving.

The Glamour Boys carried their momentum into the second half and were ahead ahead seven minutes in as Bimenyimana tucked in from the penalty spot for his brace following a foul on Yusuf Maart.

In response, United introduced a trio of changes in Thabang Sibanyoni for Grobler as well as Jamie Webber for Kegan Johannes and new signing Siphesihle Ndlovu for Margeman.

Chiefs weren't bothered and looked for a third late in the half through a mazy run towards target by Kgaogelo Sekgota following a delivery, but he wasn't able to connect.

Matsatsantsa didn't sit back invite the pressure but worked chances of their own, which the Amakhosi absorbed to preserve their slender advantage.

With time running out, chances at both ends continued however the host closed shop and walked away with the maximum points to go ninth on the table.
