Itumeleng Khune has been told to consider retiring to avoid doing further damage to the good that he has done through his playing career at Kaizer Chiefs.
It emerged over the weekend that Khune reported for training under the influence of alcohol and will now subsequently face the club's disciplinary committee.

He was subsequently dropped from the squad that overcame Moroka Swallows 3-1 on Sunday.
The 36-year-old has only ever played for Chiefs since making his PSL debut in August 2007, which was three years on from when he was promoted to the senior team after Brian Baloyi left for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Khune – who has failed to keep a clean sheet in his last 10 appearances – is in his last playing contract at Chiefs.
While the club has stated that the one-year deal that he is currently on will be his last, Khune has declared that he will continue playing.
"Khune should be leading by example especially for a keeper of his calibre and at his age," says retired goalkeeper Pelewe Delamogo.
"I mean how embarrassing is it that as club captain and the most senior player at the club he shows such behaviour.
"Why is he not respecting his job and the club?
"Why is he dragging the name of the club through the mud this way?
"He is messing up all the good that he has done all this time.
"I expect better from someone like him.
"He is no ordinary keeper but a legend of the club.
"This guy should understand that his lifestyle will affect those that look up to him.

"There are so many kids that look up to him and now how are they supposed to look at him now when they hear about all these things of coming to training under the influence of alcohol.
"His career is coming to an end, and he must realise that he needs to go out the right way.
"People always remember the bad things more than the good so he must be careful about that.
"The guy can drink but he must understand the need to respect his job.
"He is damaging his image and reputation now.
"Imagine being suspended for such behaviour as the most senior player.

"I think Khune should retire before he does further damage to his reputation.
"Khune should realise that he needs to retire now before he spoils all the good that he has done so far.
"As a senior player arriving for training under the influence of alcohol is bad.

"It is not acceptable at all, and he should be the first one to preach the need for discipline instead of what he is now doing.
"His relationship with the club and the fans will not be the same anymore after this because people will stop trusting him the way they used to.
"I'm disappointed about all of this," says Delamogo.
