Khune: I used to bring the best out of him

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune has commented on striker Ranga Chivaviro, who registered his name on the score sheet during the 4-0 mauling of SuperSport United in the Last 16 of the Carling Knockout.

Nasreddine Nabi's men are through to the next round of the competition after making light work of SuperSport via goals from Gaston Sirino, Ranga Chivaviro, Yusuf Maart and Ashley Du Preez at Peter Mokaba Stadium last Saturday. .

For Chivaviro, it was the third goal in five matches, though it did little to spare him from criticism by certain sections of the fanbase  after missing several clear-cut chances during the match.

Khune, his former teammate, said he was relieved to finally see the bulky marksman showing his class.

"He is playing a huge role in making sure that as a striker, you have to finish a game with a goal or with a shot at goal," Khune said on SABC Sport.

"He is the type of striker that likes to take shots at goal and that's what I like about him. I used to bring the best out of him at training and he used to bring the best out of me.

"So, I am happy to see him doing so well."
