How Nabi is linked to Chivaviro at Chiefs

The Tunisian-Belgian coach Muhammad Nasreddine Nabi linked to Kaizer Chiefs is the reason why Marumo Gallants striker Ranga Chivaviro is bargaining on landing at Naturena.

Nabi has been in talks with Chiefs for weeks and has made his stand about that he will only join with his support staff that include conditioning coach Helmy Gueldich and analyst Khalil Ben Youssef along with another two technical staffers instead of adopting those that he is not comfortable working with.

The 57-year-old has done extensive research on the Chiefs job and the working environment at Naturena which has included conversations with certain contacts who have previously been at the club while Arthur Zwane was an assistant.

Zwane – previously seriously wanted as an assistant by Muhsin Ertugral during his time at Mpumalanga Black Aces – has chosen to stick with working at Chiefs where he is familiar with the operations.

This website can confirm that Chiefs went as far as booking Nabi's ticket to fly from Dar es Salaam to Johannesburg nine days ago as they sought to wrap up negotiations, but the UEFA Pro Licence holder refused to travel and didn't arrive.

Instead, Nabi became out of reach for two days as he flew back home to Tunisia where he remains to this day without any agreement reached with Chiefs.

Though interested in the job, Nabi has chosen to stand his ground in the negotiations to avoid 'issues'.

Finances have not been an issue with these negotiations as Chiefs will improve what Nabi was earning at Yanga (known to this website), but it appears the talks are no longer being done in good faith based on what this website has gathered from contacts in South Africa, Tanzania, and North Africa.

In the meantime, it has been established that Ivorian agent Herve Tra Bi – who is based in South Africa – is facilitating the deal to Chiefs in liaison with Nabi and his son who doubles up as his representative.

Tra Bi also works with Chivaviro and knows that once Nabi's deal is done at Chiefs then the Marumo striker will follow with ease as Chiefs need a new number nine.

However, Chivaviro's deal will also have its own complications considering that he signed a pre-contract with Richards Bay and Marumo have agreed to trade him in to Orlando Pirates.

It has been gathered that Tra Bi also engaged Young Africans via Engineer Hersi Ally Said (with whom he has taken pictures that are circulating) about Chivaviro where he would have been the replacement for Fiston Kalala Mayele if the Congolese leaves.

At Yanga, Chivaviro would be guaranteed of at least R130 000 tax-free monthly earnings plus other benefits – making it his biggest contract to date in his career.

Nabi has other options in the Middle East countries including Egypt where he is not spoken of glowingly based on what happened during his brief spell at Ismaily.
