INSIDER: Chiefs not done in the transfer window

Having announced three new signings to bolster their squad, fresh information suggests that Kaizer Chiefs are not done in the transfer window just yet.

Chiefs have set the January transfer window alight with the announcement of three new signings on Monday.

DR Congo winger Glody Lilepo, Bafana Bafana midfielder Thabo Cele and striker Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United were unveiled as the three new additions to head coach Nasreddine Nabi's project in Naturena.

That is already more business than rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have concluded in this window.

However, information reaching this website is that Amakhosi management are still hard work trying to securing more deals, with less than 12 hours remaining in the transfer window.

According to insiders close to proceedings at The Village, the club is making a push to sign Tanzanian left-back Mohammed Husseini in the current window, after facing difficulty in prizing prime target Fawaaz Basadien away from Stellenbosch FC.

The 28-year-old Husseini is currently on the books of Simba SC and rated highly by Nabi, as well as in the East African country.

The experienced left-back is in the final six months of his deal at Simba and can join Chiefs as a free agent in July - although, the Soweto giants are understood to be keen to have the player immediately.

The Glamour Boys have also not closed the door on Richards Bay FC right-back Lwandile Mabuya, about whom they have made enquiries.

An unlikely but possible deal is that of long-time target Oswin Appollis.

The Bafana Bafana winger was surprisingly pulled out of Polokwane City's starting XI over the weekend against The Bees in the Nedbank Cup over a supposed knock.

Chiefs have made their admiration of Appollis no secret and have made a formal bid for the winger, while City have proven to be intent on holding on to their star player, as per a report published earlier today on KickOff.com.

Amakhosi have also been reported to be eyeing Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch, who is expected to leave the Chloorkop-based outfit either on loan or on a permanent deal before the window slams shut, although a deal to Naturena is unlikely.
