Kaizer Chiefs seeking to sensationally sell striker

Kaizer Chiefs are preparing to offload Burundian striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana just a season after he was initially signed.

Bimenyimana closed off the season as the club's top goal scorer in the DStv Premiership with seven goals from 17 appearances but has lost the confidence of Arthur Zwane.

The 25-year-old played just twice as a substitute in the last eight league games getting a half an hour run-out against Sekhukhune United before he was thrown into the fray with three minutes remaining against SuperSport United.

The Burundian has fallen from being a starter at the beginning of the season to sitting on the bench and then completely disappearing from the match-day squad as was the case over the weekend in the 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City.

KickOff has now been reliably informed that Chiefs now want to cash in on the towering striker who still has a further year remaining on his current contract.

Though Chiefs signed Bimenyimana as a free agent at the beginning of the season after assessing him on trial they are now seeking a profit to interested bidders.

Talks are already underway.

If no club is prepared to buy him from Chiefs, then the alternative solution will be to reaching a settlement for the remaining year on his contract.

Bimenyimana has played a full 90 minutes just once this year and is yet to score in the league in nine appearances.

Zwane is believed to have never been keen on the Burundian and once stated that he is not what they were looking after watching him in action during pre-season.

Amakhosi reportedly recruited Bimenyimana solely after failing with the club's alternative targets.
