Former Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane has revealed the reason why the current Kaizer Chiefs team is taking time to click and move into the next gear.
Chiefs have one of the strongest squads in the league on paper, but still struggle to collect maximum points on a consistent basis. As a result, they sit fifth on the table, with six wins, four draws and six defeats from the 16 matches played.

Tonight, they visit Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium (19:30).
"Kaizer Chiefs are not clicking. There's ups and downs, even though there's material. A team like Chiefs has never struggled for material," says Thobejane, speaking to KickOff.com.
"There's golden young boys there, but the problem is they don't click. That's normal in football. It depends on how you deal with the situation.
"In football, we need performance. Teams like Kaizer Chiefs are known for winning trophies. Chiefs is like Man United, as you can see they are also struggling to win the silverware.
"They do have players. When Nasreddine Nabi arrived, we saw promising signs, but all of a sudden, they went down again back to where they were," he continues.
The coach famously known for the catchphrase 'football will kill you the real death' lays the blame squarely on the Amakhosi stars' feet.
"Maybe Lady Luck has deserted Chiefs or what... we don't know. Because in football, you must create your own luck. Our players in South Africa are too focused on coaches rather than on doing their job on the pitch.
"Coach's job should end at training, in matches he just analyses his team's performance.
"You can't pass the ball for the sake of passing or dribble for the sake of dribbling. As a player, everything you do should have a purpose. Dribble because you want to create a chance to score.

"So, the Chiefs players are not sharing the ball enough, especially near the opposition's goalposts. They need teamwork.
"If everyone wants to score for themselves and continue chasing personal glory, then you don't have a team. Chiefs players are playing for themselves."
