In this edition of My Locker Room Secrets, Kaizer Chiefs legend Rudolf Seale reveals what used to take place in the legendary Amakhosi dressing room.
Whose locker room are we in today?
"Rudolf Gardener Seale a legendary Amakhosi full-back who shone for the club in the late eighties and in the early nineties."
Who was always late?
"Not under Jeff Butler hey, we had senior players there like Mike Mangena, Mark Tovey, Scara Thindwa, Howard Freese and all that."
Any interesting rituals before you played?
"Not really, what I would normally do during pitch inspections I'd only walk on the side of the pitch where I was going to use. Like the left-back position and left-wing position.
"Why would I inspect the central part of the pitch if I'm not going to play there [laughs]."LikeWho was the jokester?
"Mike Mangena. When we are allocated rooms in camp, if you know what's good for you don't dare share a room with Mike because you will find yourself sleeping late.
"That guy is full of stories and all of them got nothing to do with football. It always had to do with girls.
"Paul Motaung as well he was quite a joker."
Was it a muti change room?
"To be honest yes."
Who was the singer?
"Fani Madida. That guy I'm sure used to rehearse his songs at home before coming to training. He came up with new songs every day. He never ran out of songs."
Who was the best dressed and the worst dressed?
"Doctor Khumalo was a charmer, well me as well I was up there with him, and also Paul Motaung.
"Every time we had a game in Durban, there was an Indian guy Muhammad, he owned a clothing shop in Durban that went by the name Casanova.
"He would come to camp, take us to his shop and give us clothes on credit. So normally it was me, Doctor and Paul Motaung who'd go there.
"As for the worst dressed, it's the tough one because we all wore the club's tracksuits when we reported for training sessions or matches.
"I only know about Doctor and Paul because we used to travel together to parties, hence I'm saying we were the best dressed."
Rate the coach's team talk
"All the coaches that I went through were the best when it came to team talk except Wiseman Mbali. May his soul rest in peace.
"I don't know what Kaizer [Chiefs chairman Motaung] saw in that guy. That guy was clueless.
"Phillippe Troussier even though he was difficult, but he was good.
"But Wiseman Mbali…okay he won the BP Top 8 Cup but that was purely because of the good players we had. The character was there. Wiseman, he was the worst."
