After Kaizer Chiefs missed out on the Top Eight competition for the fourth time in the PSL history, stats suggests they could be in for at least one trophy or a significant improvement ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Chiefs had their worst finish in the Premiership last term after they ended in tenth place.

The Glamour Boys had finished outside the top eight on three occasions prior to that. The Soweto giants ended in ninth place in the 2001/02, 2006/07 and 2018/19 campaigns.
In all the upcoming seasons Chiefs finished out of the top eight, as aforementioned, Amakhosi have went on to revive their fortunes with a trophy or a significant improvement.
After finishing ninth in the 2001/02 campaign, the Glamour Boys improved the following season after winning the Coca-Cola Cup in 2003 following their 2-0 win over the defunct Silver Stars in the final.
Another ninth place finish in the 2006/07, was followed by a Telkom Knockout trophy in the 2007/08 campaign, following a penalty shootout win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the final.
Chiefs also nearly won the league title in the 2019/20 season, after they finished ninth a season prior, with former coach Ernst Middendorp's charges derailed by the Covid-19 pandemic to finish a close second second, after leading the standings for the majority of the campaign.
After Amakhosi appointed a new technical team led by head coach Nasreddine Nabi, Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr says their tenth place finish last season was a wake-up call to the organization which he believes they have heeded.
"It's not just for the players, I think this is the cry of the whole organization, it's also about management, everyone associated with the brand. It's a wake-up call to all of us," Motaung Jr told journalists at a press conference ahead of their Toyota Cup pre-season friendly against Young Africans.

"And I think the mentality in the group is a big point for the coach and a lot of focus has already gone into that. I think the players understand the task at hand, the force and the gravity of what transpired last season.
"They have really grasped what we need to do going forward, the bar has been raised significantly and they are in for a lot of hard work," Motaung Jr added.
