Besides the protracted pre-season, Amakhosi have also been busy with transfers and have signed seven players to date.

Firstly, has Nabi benefitted from the extended pre-season?

"It was a good thing for me because I'm a new coach in the league," he responds.

"It gave me time to have more training sessions and discover more about the players that I have.

"This has helped inform my decision about what we need and what we should have in the team," says Nabi.

What about his assessment of the squad that he adopted in accordance to how the thirsty Chiefs fans are for improved fortunes?

Last season was the worst for the club with a 10th-place finish.

"Firstly, it is important that we get to have a strong team, then get the performance right and then results will come.

"Then the trophies will come.

"I know what the fans want, but I'm a realist who respects both the club and the fans.

"We are going to do this step by step and this is only the start.

"I want passion.

"I respect the club and the fans, and, in this challenge, we will work hard and give 200%.

"I know what direction to take, and I have the experience in a challenge like this and I'm not afraid of competition.

"I know the challenge, but in football you need time," explains Nabi.
