Second bite of the cherry for Chiefs midfielder

Kaizer Chiefs' return to pre-season training under a new technical team this week will have left Tebogo Potsane itching to quickly get over his injury.

Potsane has not played any football for Chiefs this year due to an injury concern, with his last appearance having come on December 30.

Such have been the troubles that Potsane has faced that after burying his mother just prior to arriving at Chiefs, his time at Naturena to date hasn't been the best.

The 30-year-old is without a full shift from all the 11 games that he has played for the side, which mostly came in August last year.

Worse is that as an attacking midfielder who operates on the flanks, he is also still to score for Amakhosi.

What this means is that his second season will be crucial in determining whether he stays on for the third and last year of his contract at the club.

Potsane signed on a three-year deal last year after joining from Royal AM and was handed the jersey previously worn by Khama Billiat.

Instead of setting the scene alight at Chiefs considering his talent, Potsane only provided two assists before injury ultimately left him with only two appearances under Cavin Johnson.

He will feel that he has a fresh start under a new technical team to be led by Nasreddine Nabi this coming season.

Falling into the same bracket as Potsane is Mduduzi Mdantsane, who will has failed to consistently hold a place in the starting XI.
