'The only language fans understand is goals' - Kaizer Chiefs linked European striker warned on club's demands

Hungarian forward Balint Bajner has been warned about that winning a contract at Kaizer Chiefs could turn to be tougher than he anticipates.

Reports have suggested Bajner has arrived in the country for an assessment at Chiefs who are out in the market for additional firepower to their threadbare attack alongside Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

Bajner last featured in the Hungarian second division for Pecsi MFC while also featuring for Borussia Dortmund II in the last six years since leaving Italian club Modena in Serie C.

Bajner scored three league goals in 19 league appearances for Notts County in League One during the 2014/15 season after battling his way to five games with no goals at Ipswich Town in the Championship earlier in that season.

He was also once in the West Ham United and Borussia Dortmund reserve teams but did play 19 minutes in the Bundesliga.

"What needs to be understood is that football in European countries like Hungary is different compared to the PSL," Almiro Lobo tells KickOff.

Just like Bajner, Lobo – a retired Mozambican left-back now coaching in Angola – also played for Budapest Honved through his time in Hungary before moving to the PSL.

Bajner (31) has played for five clubs in Hungary through the years with Honved the most prominent.

"In Hungary, they are about precision, tactics, and technique while in South Africa it is all those components in a diluted manner plus the physical approach.

"At 31, I think this guy has enough experience so maybe he can play in the DStv Premiership.

"He might be aggressive and tall, but I hope he can be able to handle the demands of being at Chiefs where there is always a higher level of expectations.

"As a foreign striker at a club like Chiefs the only language that fans will understand is if you score goals.

"Maybe he can play but I feel at a club like Chiefs it is going to be tough for him especially hearing that he hasn't played much football of late.

"Maybe his experience can carry him through, but I must repeat that with a club like Chiefs it could be tough for him.

"If it had been a club with lesser demands then he would have been able to adapt with ease to the atmosphere and the league.

"At Chiefs, you may be a good player but then find yourself not able to cope with the demands because with the top teams, they will always put you under pressure.

"I'm not sure he will be able to adjust," says Lobo.

Bajner was initially recommended to Chiefs by Ernst Middendorp three years ago.
