After Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr admitted that they are still in search of a striker, there is exclusive insight on Fagrie Lakay, who has been linked with a move away from Pyramids FC.
Motaung Jr could not deny that Chiefs are in the market for a hitman, in his interview on 947's MSW, after they could not yet land a number of their targets.

Ironically, Amakhosi reportedly targeted Pyramids forward Fiston Mayele, who plays alongside Lakay.
However, it emerged that the Democratic Republic of Congo marksman was on a lucrative contract that was out of reach for the South Africans.
News also surfaced from Egypt that the Bafana Bafana international was one of the players proposed to move to Cleopatra Ceramica, in a loan and swap deal that also included three other players moving in the opposite direction, in exchange for Nigerian forward, Sadiq Awujoola.
Media outlets were on overdrive on whether the Glamour Boys could have the opportunity to bid for Lakay, especially after the same report by Egyptian publication KingFut claimed that the former Cape Town City man was unwilling to move to Ceramic.
KickOff has learnt that the possibility of Chiefs sneaking into the picture is almost dead in the water.
Just like with Mayele, indications are that Lakay is simply out of reach for what Amakhosi can afford and has budgeted for a striker.

According to reports in the North African country, Lakay gets around $600, 000 (R10,5 million) per year at Pyramids, although this website understands that the attacker actually earns significantly more than that and that the Soweto giants are not in a position to meet his salary expectations.
Additionally, Chiefs would have to pay a big transfer fee, as the hard-running players has one year left on his contract with the Cairo-based outfit.
