Zwane focusing on the positives amid injury crisis

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane is remaining optimistic as Amakhosi face Maritzburg United amid an injury crisis.

Amakhoi's injury list included Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomon, Caleb Bimenyimana and Khama Billiat among others, while chiefs are sweating over the fitness of Eric Mathoho and Phathutshedzo Nange who  both recently returned from their respective injuries.

However, ahead of the clash against the Team of Choice, Zwane has chosen to focus on the positives, insisting that the injury crisis will give other players opportunities.

"When some get injured, it gives others the opportunity to play. We've done well, we managed to keep everyone on their toes," Zwane told the club's website.

"Injuries or no injuries, at the end of the day we have to prepare 11 players that will start, plus substitutes coming from the bench and impacting the game in our favour, so we balance the scales."

The Nedbank Cup could very well be Chiefs last chance as securing any silverware this season after Orlando Pirates helped themselves to a MTN8 tittle in August and the DStv Premierships all but secured under a tight grip from defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The two teams meet at a sold-out Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg and Zwane believes this can work in favour of Amakhosi.

"The stadium will be packed to capacity, which can be a plus for us, with players going onto the field knowing they have a huge responsibility on their shoulders. It's a task we are going to have to fulfill, of going to the next round," added Zwane
