Professional footballers are regularly being urged to ensure that they have something to fall back on when they do eventually decide to hang up their boots so that they have stable income even after they're done playing.

Ekstein looks to have taken heed of the constant outcries by establishing a business of his own, something that can grow while he still plays the game at the highest level.

By doing so, the 33-year-old, along with his wife who he has seemingly partnered up with for the venture, has attempted to secure a different avenue for himself when he eventually retires.

The player took to social media to express his delight, and share the news with his followers.

"We are excited to announce our company @gift.hse PTY LTD," he wrote on Instagram.
