Davide Somma to be the next Pitso Mosimane?

Davide Somma was one of South Africa's most successful exports with a lengthy career in Europe and with the former striker now retired, we take a look at the baller's successful post-retirement lifestyle.

The 38-year-old enjoyed a long career in Europe playing for a number of clubs such as Pro Vasto, Leeds United, San Jose Earthquakes.

This earned him a call up to the Bafana in 2010 but the forward unfortunately only made two appearances.

In 2017, Somma reportedly tried to make a playing comeback when he had a trial at Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls, however he was unsuccessful with the trial.

While the player has not announced retirement, he has labelled himself as an ex pro on his social media.

Since seemingly retiring, Somma has taken up coaching and is working towards a career in professional coaching.

In 2020, the veteran found himself coaching amateur teams around Long Island but it remains a mystery if he still is.

On Instagram, the former footballer consistently uploads videos of his intense individual training.

It is clear that the ex-pro has picked up some tricks from the former managers he has worked under.

Who knows, the former striker could just end up back in South Africa as a coach if a move were to interest him.
